- Description
With an emphasis on reaching historically underrepresented populations, the All of Us Research Program dataset contains electronic health records (EHR), surveys, biospecimens, wearable devices (biometrics), physical measurements from consenting adults aged 18 and above across the United States.
The six All of Us surveys assess the areas listed below:
Basic demographic information Lifestyle/substance use (i.e., tobacco, alcohol, and recreational drugs) Overall health (general health status, daily activities, and women’s health) Medical history (medical conditions and approximate age of diagnosis) Family Medical History (medical history of immediate biological family members) Health Care Access & Utilization (self-reported use of various health services) The Research Hub separates data into three tiers:
- Public Tier: Anonymized, aggregate data can be viewed with the Data Browser
- Registered Tier: Contains individual-level data and is available only to approved researchers on the Researcher Workbench. Authorized users also have access to tools such as the Cohort Builder, Jupyter Notebooks, and Dataset Builder.
- Controlled Tier: Contains genomic data in the form of whole genome sequencing (WGS) and genotyping arrays, previously suppressed demographic data fields from EHRs and surveys, and unshifted dates of events.

The All of Us Research Program offers two different tiers of access :
- Public Tier: This dataset is accessible through the Data Browser and is openly available to the public.
- Registered Tier: The Researcher Workbench provides access to the Registered Tier and is available to faculty, staff and students of Lehigh University upon the successful completion training provided by the All of Us Research Program. To begin the process, researchers at Lehigh must register for an account.
